Improving climate models using quantum machine learning

planqc and d-fine win DLR contract

The companies planqc and d-fine were selected by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to work with DLR experts to improve climate models using quantum machine learning techniques. The improved climate models aim at developing more accurate predictions about climate trends and more effective adaptation and mitigation strategies for coping with the impact of the climate crisis. Quantum computers are considered a disruptive technology that enable significantly faster calculations and simulations in a variety of application areas and have the potential to significantly accelerate simulations using climate models.
